SAM SMART

MS Program, Quantum Engineering

Sam SmartI came over to the States from South Africa to pursue my passion in quantum physics and quantum computing. I just want to take every chance I can to immerse myself in the opportunities that being here has to offer. To meet experts, and hopefully mentors, as well as connect with the next generation of quantum information scientists. I hope to use my skills to play my own small role in this exciting new field and the NRT can give me a step up in fulfilling that goal. At some point in my life/career I hope to be able to bring me knowledge and skills back to South Africa and help proliferate quantum technologies back home too.

When I’m not studying physics, much of my time is spent playing rugby for the Mines team, and during winter I’ll be on the slopes snowboarding too.
